5000 Question Meme

For some reason when I heard of the 5000 Question meme I thought what a great idea lets do it!

So I've managed to get the first 100 questions answered with some tongue and cheek. I'm working on the next 100 now.



Part one

1. Who are you?
I am me. Okay so the low down – I’m Lauren, I’m 24, I love rping, I am going to travel the world. I have friends and family.

2. What are the 3 most important things everyone should know about you?
This one is a bit bizarre. I’m more a take me as you find me. Errrm….I guess if you were meeting me – I will eat anything, I am not good at making decisions like where to eat or go as I tend to fall in with the crowd, I will try most anything.

3. When you aren't filling out 5,000 question surveys like this one what are you doing?
I’m most definitely procrastinating. Right now I’m avoiding tidying my room and settling on which tour to take around China

4. List your classes in school from the ones you like the most to the ones you like the least (or if you are out of school, think of the classes you did like and didn't like at the time).

Okkkk not very specific for which year but for A level and AS History, English, Class Civ, Maths (it became the surprise front runner)

The classes I hated during any time – German and Technology
The ones I most loved – Maths, Latin, Class Civ

5. What is your biggest goal for this year?
Oh boy this used to be easier. It is still go around the world but there are a zillion and one goals I want to complete while I am away like going to the Great Barrier Reef.

6. Where do you want to be in 5 years?
Again when I lived in lala land I would say I wanted to be a solicitor. Knowing it isn’t possible, it would be doing work with kids and in a relationship with the right person

7. What stage of life are you in right now?
I should be at the enter the real world but I am now at the let’s go bumming around the world and hide from things like jobs and houses.

8. Are you more child-like or childish?
I think child-like, I take pleasure in simple things and enjoy games.

9. What is the last thing you said out loud?
‘At least you know’ to mum on the subject of airflight prices for her

10. What song comes closest to how you feel about your life right now?
Acid Jazz Singer by Fratellis it really does some the craziness up

11. Have you ever taken martial arts classes?
Nope, I did want to when I was younger but I wasn’t allowed to. However I do love watching martial art films

12. Does your life tend to get better or worse or does it just stay the same?
I think it keeps getting worse, there really is no rock bottom but I’m hoping for the up swing

13. Does time really heal all wounds?
Not unless you lost your memories. A wound can never fully heal while you hold on to what caused it

14. How do you handle a rainy day?
If I am outside I laugh my way through to somewhere dry. If I am already inside I curl up with a good book and look out at the rain occasionally.

15. Which is worse...losing your luggage or having to sort out tangled holiday lights?
Losing my luggage, it definitely is a nightmare. I quite enjoy getting tangles out of things including holiday lights.

16. How is your relationship with your parents? Will you miss them when they are gone?
My relationship with my parents is better when we aren’t living on top of each other. We love each other but we all have short fuses.

Of course I will miss them, I love them.

17. Do you tend to be aware of what is going on around you?
If I am day dreaming I don’t notice a thing around me but generally when I am out walking or in a café or shop I notice everything that is going on and keep an ear out for interesting snippets of conversation.

18. What is the truest thing that you know?
That I exist in some form somewhere

19. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I used to want to be an architect

20. Have you ever been given a second chance?
Yes I have by some and not by others

21. Are you more of a giver or a taker?
I like to think that I give but I know I take as well

22. Do you make your decisions with an open heart/mind?
I definitely try to make decisions with an open mind. If I don’t have one I try at least to listen to reasons why I should be more open minded about a topic.

23. What is the most physically painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Breaking a big bone in paw, I can still feel the needles they used to numb it to put it back into place.

24. What is the most emotionally painful thing that has ever happened to you?
Yeah I don’t think anyone is going to give a completely truthful answer to this question.

25. Who have you hugged today?
My mum and dad. The only other person I’ve seen all day is my driving instructor and I think he would have been very surprised if I had tried to hug him.

26. Who has done something today to show they care about you?
My cousin who is a year and two days older than me sent a card which arrived today with a pair of earrings. It meant a lot she had remembered.

27. Do you have a lot to learn?
I think they University of Ulster were right with their catch line ‘Lifelong learning’, there is always something new to learn.

28. If you could learn how to do three things just by wishing and not by working what would they be?

A Speak foreign languages

B Do the garden

C Fly

29. Which do you remember the longest: what other people say, what other people do or how other people make you feel?
I think all three things are connected. But what I remember most is the emotion.

30. What are the key ingredients to having a good relationship?
Romance, sex, honesty, having a laugh

31. What 3 things do you want to do before you die?

A Have a novel published

B See the Northern Lights

C Be married/have a civil partnership

32. What three things would you want to die to avoid doing?
(I don’t really like this question because I don’t think your life should be cheapened or shortened if you have something left to live for)

A To avoid killing someone else

B To stop myself from betraying my country

C To avoid dying through a long, painful illness

33. Is there a cause you believe in more than any other cause?
I believe most strongly at the minute that all people should get fair representation in the media. An accurate portrayal can make the difference to a lot of causes

34. What does each decade make you think of:

The 19..

20's: erm, parents aren’t even alive…Weimar Repiblic? Jazz?

30's: Dad gets himself born Great Depression (wonder what our one will be called, 2nd Great Depression?), WW2

40's: Mum born, war

50's: still no me,Cold War, civil rights

60's: nope not me, Beatles, we jet to the moooooooon

70's: well I was thought of but nope, but there were definitely hippies

80's: yes me! childhood, shell suits

90's: exams, pony

2000 (so far): Technology, Depression, Swine Flu

2010's: I’ll be old and robots will rule the world (if they don’t already)

35. Which decade do you feel the most special connection to and why?
Well my choices are just a little limited there but I would love to have seen the 60s

36. What is your favorite oldie/classic rock song?
I think it has to be Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, it was played all the time in the car

37. What country do you live in and who is the leader of that country?
Northern Ireland, you could argue that it’s civil servants and Gordon Brown but it is Peter Robinson

If you could say any sentence to the current leader of your country what would it be?
Please do some governing

38. What's your favorite TV channel to watch in the middle of the night?
I don’t watch tv in the middle of the night because it tends to be all that crappy call in game show stuff but I do tend to put the West Wing on.

39. What Disney villain are you the most like and why?
Scar because he was successful for a long time, cunning and very scary and who wouldn’t want to be a lion.

40. Have you ever been a girl scout/boy scout?
Yup I was in the Guides for three years, I even have about fifteen badges to prove it.

41. If you were traveling to another continent would you rather fly or take a boat?
Fly! It takes far too long on the boat. I would rather have more time to explore the land.

42. Why is the sky blue during the day and black at night?
Dude it’s science the light refracts when it hits the earth’s atmosphere, blue travels the slowest so that’s the colour we see and when there is no light well….you just don’t get colour.

43. What does your name mean?
*googles* Well I always thought it was after the Laurel plant but in Latin it also means Man from Laurentum

44. Would you rather explore the deeps of the ocean or outer space?
The deeps of the ocean unless someone can prove I would meet some cool aliens

Well food, water to eat and drink, something to do as a loo, a bin and my ereader and pen and paper.

As cool as it sounds. No

Go walking, I love going for long walks listening to music and walking over things like anger

They always make me smile and I still look for that pot of gold.

Someday a will find that secret tunnel I dream about that leads out of room

No, but I think I will do it sometime out of interest.

I don’t know, it scares me that somewhere I could go would have no flaws

I do. I believe he created me and trusts me to find my path with his guidance.

Nope but we would get pretty bored.

Horse riding, there is nothing in the world like it

Hrmmmm I think you could lose nearly any right because they are still prescribed for by the law. We are far to rights based now.

The equator, it is too cold and isolated at the North Pole

Listening to music, I still have the music channels on the television.

Having the guts to do something no one else would do, or put their life at risk for another

My bus ticket home from town on Thursday

They are more trouble than they are woth.

Yup as it was my birthday I’ve had cards and parcels

Dancing, I would really love to know how to ballroom dance.

91. In Star Trek people 'beam' back and forth between different places. What this means is they stand in a little tube and their molecules are deconstructed and sent to another tube somewhere else where they are reassembled. Only problem is when the molecules are deconstructed the person is dead. When they are put back together it is only a clone that has all the dead person's memories. So...

I am not afraid of insects, they intrigue me

My dad is into cars and plays the organ, my mum likes line dancing and card making

Nope but I have looked after two stick insects and a tarantula for a friend for a week.

Nah but I’ve pictured myself taming a kestrel

Wishes they keep you going

About 10pm at the minute
